Adult Star Most-Downloaded Female Voice for Dutch SatNav Systems

AMSTERDAM — In an announcement that has adult crossing into mainstream yet again, Dutch adult star Kim Holland is the most downloaded voice for the TomTom in-car satellite navigation system from the Navigatiestemmen.nl (Navigation Voices) website, according to Amsterdam-based tech-lifestyle magazine Bright. By contrast, the most-downloaded male voice is "Mr Owl," a character from a late '60s children’s TV show.

Holland, a former Jehovah's Witness, told an interviewer for Dutch newspaper The Telegraph, "I was a bloody fanatic and married as a virgin when I was 18 years old. At the meetings I learned that men outside the faith desired just one thing. I wasn’t occupied with sex and never had an orgasm."

By the time she was 23, she had joined the Dutch Association for Sexual Reform and was making amateur videos. A reality TV show about her daily life was cancelled in 2006 after two episodes aired: The network said it was unsuitable for younger viewers.

"Maybe [TV network] Talpa does not know what to do anymore to get high ratings," Holland said.

The U.S. TomTom site offers the voices of Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling and mainstream actors Gary Busey, Mr. T, Burt Reynolds and Dennis Hopper.

The Netherlands-based TomTom navigation device is available in more than 15 European countries, as well as Canada, the U.S., Australia and Japan. For more information, visit TomTom.com.

Representatives of TomTom were not available for comment at press time.
